Evaluating the research projects PRFU

Evaluating research projects is a fundamental dimension in the evaluation of development research. This evaluation is done by scientific advisers of the national committee of evaluating and programming the university research.

Every research project will be evaluated by two scientific advisers, and in the event of any dispute, a third scientific adviser will be assigned.

Projects approved for four years will undergo two evaluations:

  • A mid-term evaluation: Which is done at the end of the second year of project’s adoption date and it is based on the following elements:
  • A case presenting the doctoral theses to students belonging to research team
  • The evaluation of scientific activities’ development percentage compared to the determined aims
  • The mid-term process is evaluated by accepting or refusing the continuation of the project, and in case of stopping it, no appeal will be accepted in this regard, and it is not allowed for the project’s members to suggest a new research project only after one year of its suspension.
  • A final evaluation: It is done at the end of the fourth year of the project adoption date. It is based on the following elements:
  • The number of the defended doctoral theses by the doctoral students: At least a Ph.D. defense for each research project.
  • The scientific product accomplished in the framework of the research project and during the project approval period:
  • The quality and the number of national and international publications, books patents or other kinds of research or technology development activities.
