- The entry to science doctorate training on the basis of certificate for the candidates having the magister diploma or a foreign certificate recognized as equivalent that is received according to the provisions of the amended and supplemented executive decree n°254/98 dated on August 17th, 1988. This latter is concerned with the training in the doctorate, specialized postgraduate and the amended and supplemented university accreditation.
Sciences doctorate discussion’s conditions:
- According to the article n°03, dated on March 08th, 2018 which is concerned with the conditions and the manners to defend a science doctorate:
- The supervisor prepares a report concerning the ability of the thesis to be discussed. This report contains two documents:
- A certificate confirming that the thesis quality and the determined aims are reached (annex n°01)
- A certificate stating that the scientific publication has a direct relation with the thesis’ subject (annex n°02)
- The doctorate student presents a certificate proving that he/ she was regularly enrolled in sciences doctorate (annex n °03)
The defense document:
- The thesis
- The supervisor’s report about the thesis susceptibility to be discussed
- The publication or the scientific publications or any other scientific product related to the thesis.
- The defense document is submitted by the supervisor depending on the cases to the postgraduate service of the registration’s institution
The stages of presenting a defense document:
- The defense document must be submitted to the postgraduate service of the enrollment institution
- The department’s scientific committee suggests a defense jury to the scientific council of the faculty or the institute of the university, according to the provisions of the executive decree n°254/98 dated on August 17th, 1998.
- The scientific council of the faculty or the institute of the university agrees with the establishment of a defense jury that could be adjusted and presented to the institution’s director.
- The defense jury members evaluate the doctorate thesis’ content and they present their assessments of the scientific publication according to the prepared model (annex n°05)
- The postgraduate service’s responsible sends the defense document to the discussion committee members in a maximum of 60 days. In case of necessity, the member who did not submit his/ her report will be replaced by a new member. This latter will also be given a maximum of 60 days to present his/ her report. If the thesis’ project has some substantial reservations, they must be declared to the supervisor to deal with. If the supervisor rejected these preservations, a second defense jury would be assigned with the same manners. The decision of the second jury will be considered a final decision and the jury’s president will present reports’ summary. The faculty’s dean or the institute’s director of the university will send the document to the institution’s director.
-The discussion license must be prepared in a maximum of 15 days starting from the date of receiving the document.
-After the discussion, the candidate is obliged to make the corrections of the allocated reservations of the jury and to publish the thesis’ summary on the official site of the institution of enrollment. After the official submission of the final copy at the level of the national dissertation card of the national center of research on Scientific and technical Information (Cerist), the institution’s director gives the doctorate certificate to the concerned candidate.
The Open Specialties in Sciences Doctorate:
The beginning of the first training to get the sciences doctorate certificate of the university was in 2015, and there were four open specialties shown in the following table:

The enrolled students in the third cycle before the academic year 2016/2017, are subjected to the publication ‘provisions dated on March 08th, 2018 regarding the conditions and manners of defending sciences doctorate.
