Regional Conference of Central Region Universities Holds Its Meeting
On 18 April 2026, the University of Médéa, headquarters of the Regional Conference of Central Region Universities, hosted the meeting of the Conference. The event was attended by the Rectors of the higher education institutions of the Central Region, together with a representative of the National Office of University Services.
The meeting was officially opened by Professor Jaafar Bouarouri, President of the Regional Conference of Central Region Universities. In his opening address, he emphasized the importance of maintaining continuous coordination among the higher education institutions of the region and sustaining collective efforts to ensure the successful completion of the academic year.
During the meeting, participants discussed a number of key topics, including:
Assessment of the second semester, including the progress of course delivery, the volume of teaching hours completed, and the examination schedule,
Academic affairs, with particular emphasis on English-language instruction, the implementation of the regulations governing student-athletes, and the development of new academic programmes,
Entrepreneurship and innovation within the university environment,
Academic cooperation and exchange, with particular emphasis on the Study in Algeria programme and inter-university twinning agreements,
Assessment of student life quality, with particular emphasis on student accommodation, catering services, transportation, and healthcare provision,
In addition, the participants addressed various issues and concerns relating to higher education institutions and university services across the Central Region.
This meeting forms part of the ongoing coordination efforts led by the Regional Conference of Central Region Universities, aimed at improving the quality of education and student life, while strengthening cooperation and integration among the various stakeholders in the higher education sector.
